The Inov-8 Roclite 290 Running the trails meant investing in a decent pair of trail running shoes. This time I spent my time researching and upon recommendation I ordered a pair of inov-8 Roclite.
The 250 is one of the lighter versions of this shoe in their range (250g/8.75oz stated weight), so looses some of the cushioning to provide a more nimble ride but with the same quality grip. The heel to toe drop is a low 4mm and is aimed squarely at the hard packed trails you find in many European ultra marathons and trail races.
The breathable upper used in this sneaker is made with a lightweight synthetic mesh. Inov-8 applied the AdapterFit webbing The upper is one of the most durable parts of the Trail Talon 275. Midsole. Inov-8 uses a lower durometer EVA foam throughout the midsole of the X-Talon 190 giving it an almost bouncy feel on the trail for such minimal material. The stack height is more reminiscent of a road racing flat and with a mere 3mm heel drop the X-Talon 190 certainly feels low to the ground.

Well, luckily for me, Inov-8 reached out and offered to let me review a few pairs, including these, the X-Talon 212 – one of Inov-8’s best selling trail shoes! This shoe is a beast. It’s definitely geared for those runs that are going to take you in rough conditions. In fact, Inov-8 considers this shoe an “Off-Trail” runner.
